Cheap apartments in Venice

Venice is known for being expensive, but with a few tricks you can find apartments and B&Bs at lower prices. The area you choose, the season and booking directly with the host all make a difference.

When to go and when to book

Peak season (Carnival, summer, bank holidays) sends prices up. To save, prefer spring and autumn (April, May, September, October) or winter excluding Carnival. Booking in advance helps; last minute can sometimes offer deals but with less choice.

More affordable areas in Venice

In the historic centre, Cannaregio and Castello are often more affordable, slightly off the main tourist flow but well connected. The islands (Murano, Lido, Giudecca) often offer more space and lower prices; factor in vaporetto cost and time. Mestre and the mainland are the cheapest option: Venice is a short train ride away.

Booking directly with the host

Contacting the owner with no intermediary often leads to better rates and quick clarity on what’s included (cleaning, tourist tax). On Domrentals you’ll find Venice apartments and B&Bs with direct contact: search in the destinations section and compare.
